I am searching for a decent (not too cheap, not too fancy) wireless home security system to place outside my attached garage. I would like it to be completely wireless, including cameras, if possible. A monitor, preferably handheld. And weather resistant, including cold temperatures in the winter. I think it would be a good idea overall. It would allow monitoring of classroom safety, allow schools to evaluate teacher effectiveness more thoroughly and serve as a record when any student-teacher disputes arose.

I think those goals override any privacy concerns. Not that students have an expectation of privacy in a school classroom to begin with, but certainly the idea of being surveilled would probably irritate some folks.

My friend just got his house broken into. He is not living there at the moment, rather, moving in. He is of course thinking into going all high tech and installing cameras, motion lights, etc. Is it a good idea to leave the radio/tv on when one leaves the house? Are there any easy tips one can follow when leaving their home?
